“Engage in genre analysis and multimodal composing to explore effective writing across disciplinary contexts and beyond”

This CLO was one of the course learning outcomes that were new to me in writing. In past classes, we never analyzed genre at all, the teacher would just tell us what genre to write in and that would be it.

I think this is an important aspect of writing as an engineer because all of the genre analyses helped us to understand all the genres in more depth than b before. It is important to understand the genres so that you can make the correct choice while picking the particular genre you will use for certain writings.

I think I have achieved this CLO because I know think of genres deeply before choosing one for my writing. Before this semester I would just start writing without thinking of genre. I think this is an important addition to my writing process.
