When we think of Design we usually think of it in a broad sense. However, as a rhetorical element, we can narrow it down. Design. Or Media can be explained as to how we display our message or work. An example of this would be my memo for the revamping of cuny first and blackboard. The media I decided to use as an email because It would be the most likely place he would check for something of this nature. It would also allow me to send the memo as quickly as possible. If I were to send him it in the paper it would probably take longer, and it could easily get lost. I can also send the email to several other people who may be interested in the memo within a matter of seconds.

At the beginning of the semester, I didn’t really think of design much at all. In past English classes, I was so used to just writing in Microsoft word and calling it a day. The “writing for engineers” class did a good job of making us think hard about what media we should choose to use. With the end of the semester, I now find myself taking media into more consideration.
